Committees

UN Women (UNW)

Ensuring access to equality, gender-responsive healthcare for women and girls, especially in developing and conflict-affected regions.

The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women focus on promoting gender equality and addressing challenges faced by women globally. In this committee, delegates will examine gaps in healthcare access, including maternal health, reproductive rights, mental health and the impact of conflict on healthcare systems. Discussions will revolve around policy frameworks, international cooperation and grassroots-level implementation. Delegates are expected to propose practical and inclusive solutions that uphold human rights while respecting cultural and regional differences.

United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)

Protecting the rights of vulnerable populations during armed conflicts, with emphasis on gender, youth, and education.

The UNHRC is responsible for promoting and protecting human rights worldwide. This committee will focus on the humanitarian impact of armed conflicts, particularly on marginalized groups such as women, children and displaced populations. Delegates will analyse issues like child soldiers, disruption of education, gender-based violence and refugee crises. Emphasis will be placed on international law, including humanitarian law and human rights conventions. The goal is to develop realistic recommendations that ensure accountability, protection and access to basic rights even in conflict situations.

Lok Sabha

Strengthening democratic governance in India, focusing on electoral integrity, accountability, and the idea of One Nation, One Election.

The Lok Sabha committee simulates the lower house of the Indian Parliament, providing delegates with a platform to debate national policies and legislative reforms. Discussions will centre on electoral transparency, misuse of power, role of institutions and the feasibility and implications of simultaneous elections across the country. Delegates will engage in parliamentary procedures such as debates, motions and voting, while representing political ideologies and constituencies. The committee encourages critical thinking about governance and aims to foster informed policymaking.

Mahabharata Committee (Special Committee)

Analysing the moral and ethical decisions of key figures in the Mahabharata, with focus on Dharma and Raj Dharma.

Centred around the ancient Indian epic Mahabharata, this special committee explores timeless questions of ethics, duty and leadership, with delegates representing key characters such as Yudhishthira, Duryodhana, Arjuna and Krishna. Without altering the original storyline, it critically examines major events—such as the game of dice, the Pandavas’ exile, and the Kurukshetra war—through structured debate, encouraging delegates to assess whether these actions were justified within the frameworks of Dharma (moral duty) and Rajdharma (duty of rulers), while fostering an understanding of complex decision-making where choices often lie between competing duties rather than clear right or wrong.

United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)

Addressing rising tensions between Iran and the United States through diplomatic and economic measures.

The UNGA is the main deliberative body of the United Nations, where all member states have equal representation. In this committee, delegates will deliberate on geopolitical tensions and their implications for global peace and security. The focus will be on diplomacy, sanctions, economic policies and conflict prevention. Delegates must balance national interests with global stability, working collaboratively to draft resolutions that promote dialogue, reduce escalation and maintain international order.

United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA)

Tackling climate change through climate justice, sustainable development, and global cooperation.

UNEA is the world’s highest-level decision-making body on environmental matters. This committee will address pressing environmental challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution and unequal environmental impacts across nations. Delegates will explore concepts like climate justice, where developing nations seek fairness in responsibility and resource allocation. The committee emphasizes sustainable development goals, international agreements and innovative solutions that balance economic growth with environmental protection.

War Cabinet Crisis (WCC)

Responding to a two-front security threat to India, focusing on military, cyber, and internal security strategies.

The War Cabinet Crisis Committee is a dynamic and fast-paced simulation of a high-level national security decision-making body. Delegates will represent key government officials, military leaders and intelligence agencies. They will respond to evolving crisis situations in real time, including border conflicts, cyber threats and internal security challenges. The committee requires quick thinking, strategic planning and effective coordination. Decisions taken by delegates directly influence the course of the simulation, making it highly engaging and unpredictable.

Moot Court

Simulating court proceedings on a contemporary legal issue (case to be revealed prior to the conference).

The Moot Court provides a platform for participants to engage in legal practice by simulating courtroom proceedings. Delegates will assume roles such as advocates and judges, presenting arguments based on constitutional provisions, legal precedents, and statutes. The committee focuses on developing skills in legal reasoning, research, and public speaking. Participants will analyse complex legal issues and defend their positions through structured arguments and rebuttals.

International Press (IP)

Reporting and documenting the conference through journalism, photography, and caricature.

The International Press acts as the media wing of the conference. Participants will cover committee proceedings, conduct interviews and produce content such as articles, newsletters, photographs and caricatures. The committee emphasizes ethical reporting, accuracy and creativity. It highlights the role of media in shaping public opinion and narratives, encouraging participants to present balanced and insightful coverage of events.

IPL Auction Committee

Building competitive teams through strategic player auctions while managing budgets.

Inspired by the Indian Premier League, this committee simulates the player auction process. Delegates act as franchise owners or management teams, making strategic decisions to build balanced squads within financial constraints. They must evaluate player performance, team requirements and long-term strategy. The committee combines analytical thinking with negotiation and decision-making skills, offering a highly interactive and engaging experience.
